It's time to end the double-talk on oil. People from Wilmington and Los Angeles aren't paying $3 a gallon for gas because of our "addiction to oil." They are paying $3 a gallon because this administration's national energy policy is written by the big oil companies.

I had friend ask me to convince her that Edwards Working Society was a good idea. Below is my argument.
Any one who works 40 hours a week deserves a living wage. The bible states those who have more should give more. Are we the party who cares for the least among us or are we the party who believes in survival of the fittest? We are not talking about welfare here. We are talking about helping people to help themselves.
People who help themselves have hope for a better future. Raise more responsible children. This breaks the cycle of poverty.
Minimum wage in real dollars is lower now than in 1950. How can the richest nation in the world defend a declining minimum wage? You say to me "How do you counter the argument that by raising the minimum wage you put small business out of business". I say to you prove to me that raising the minimum wage hurts small business. I do not know any time the increasing of the minimum wage has hurt small business.
In fact every extra dollar that a low wage earner gets is put right back into the economy. This helps the economy to grow. A growing economy helps small business. That is why Henry Ford paid his workers enough to buy his cars. He knew his own workers would also help grow his company by buying his cars.
You ask me: "And a rebate for people who don't pay taxes? Why" I say why not. People who earn a living wage have something to lose. When you have something to lose, you are a more responsible citizen. They are less likely to commit crimes. They are less likely to hurt other citizens. They have hope for a better future. People with hope are more likely to work harder to get ahead.
If we need to increase the earn income tax rebate to keep the full time working poor out of poverty, then lets do it. Again this rebate money will be put right back into the economy. This will help small business and grow the economy.
You see when we help the least among us; we help ourselves too. Edwards is not talking about welfare. He is not talking about handouts. He is talking about helping people help themselves.
Our own money has funded the terrorists who attacked us. The money we use to import oil. My fellow Americans this is unacceptable. For our own National Security I am asking all Americans to buy Automobiles that have the best gas mileage and still suit your needs. We can no longer afford to fund the terrorist with low mileage vehicles. This will help starve the terrorist of their needed sources of finances.
The second part of my plan to starve the terrorist of their financial resources is to make America Energy Independent. We will invest what ever it takes to find affordable alternative sources of energy. This will be the Apollo Program of Energy Independence. So I am calling on the nation's best minds to come forward and help us with this mission. Also, we are asking our children to study science and mathematics. It is our children's patriotic duty to prepare their minds. Our Nation needs their minds to help fight this war on terror.

Bush did not go to war with Iraq, but invested the money that he is spending in Iraq in making the above dream come true.
He could have been a great President, instead he became ...

The Conservatives control the Supreme Court, but that is not good enough. The Far Right Wing of the Republican Party, which controls the Republican Party, wants the Supreme Court to be Wingbat Crazy Conservative. Please give me a break.
She does not want pity. She wants to bring the troops home now. Why? She wants to spare other families the pain losing a child in Bush's War of Choice. For her desire to protect the Troops from a Bush's War of Choice some people hate her and people like us. We will live and keep speaking truth to power.
I understand why some people must believe Bush is noble, because I once believed in my President. I mean I believe in him until the facts came out. I supported the war. Because I supported the war I have blood on my hands. I will never be able wash my hands clean. If Bush is not noble and fought this war to enrich his buddies, then all who support his war of choice have blood on their hands. Realizing that your hands are bloody is a heavy burden.
